Wheaton Wins Little 19 Mat Title Fifth Time

Alton Evening Telegraph, Monday, March 15, 1937

Wheaton College held the honor today of being the first Illinois Intercollegiate Conference member to defend successfully a championship during the athletic year of 1936-1937. Wheaton's grapplers won their fifth straight wrestling title Saturday by scoring 42 points against Illinois Normal's 31, Northern Teacher's 11 and North Central's 10.

Millikin and Monmouth dropped the football championship to Wesleyan and St. Viator. State Normal lost the cross country title to Eastern Teachers, and Wesleyan saw Bradley take the basketball crown.
